Hey guys i just got my new computer. A64 3200+, Radeon 9800 pro, 1gig of Corsair ram, 2 Sata 7200 rpm HD's in Raid 0,

Yet, i just installed counterstrike and tried to play. It runs fine but every 5 minutes or so it will run like crap, extremely laggy. I have closed all other programs, i have even reduced the resolution. What else could i possibly try to fix this? I know it should run perfectly on this computer.

Yep, figure out what kind of "lag" you have, then come back here with MORE details
 
Like they said, what kind of lag are you getting?

If I'm not mistaken, it's most likely your gameplay correct? Are you sure you have the game set to opengl mode and not direct3d/software mode. What kind of drivers you have? Just some things to look at but post back with what kind of lag you getting.
 
The computer bogs down.

Right now it is set on software mode...should i set it to OpenGL or Direct3d?
 
IF you were going to run in software mode you may as well have run the game on a p133
