Ok here is my problem. I recently did a what I considered very modest overclock to my Core i5 760. It is overclocked it to 3.2ghz and I am getting what you see above for an idle temp. What is confusing me is why the cores show to be perfectly cool and the CPU shows to be 15C higher. It is running a stock cooler, but I don't think it should be idling at 45C with that small of an overclock. Also I even turned on the turbo fan profile and that is with the fan turning 1750RPMs!
One thing I am pondering is I used the Asus auto tune and I noticed it upped the RAM voltage to 1.65v. I know the memory controller is on the CPU, so maybe this is where my problem is?
Edit: Well there goes that theory. I put it on the X.M.P with 1.5v and it is still getting the same temp readings with no overclock. I am beginning to wonder if that CPU reading is just crazy and I just need to pay attention to the Cores. I am kind of new to overclocking, so I am not sure on this.
