Confused by GPU Names - Still.... please make som sense out of the names

1. It is almost a full time job keeping up with the current Nvida and ATI cards. The names are so confusing (obviously intentionally). Where can I go to see a list that will rank order all cards for me. I have seen the list at tomshardware.com. Are any other lists available?

2. I would like to see the same list for integrated video as I am about to build another decicated media server and would like to build something cool (without a dedicated card).
 
Tom's should help you sort out the more recent stuff.

ATI- 4850 -> 4870 -> 4870 1gb -> 4850x2 -> 4870x2
Nv - gt 260 -> gt260 216 -> gt 280

While the above is a pretty comprehensive list, if you want to compare SLI and CrossfireX configs against each other and individual cards, it won't help.

I use http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php as it allows to you compare additional considerations, like overlocks and multi-gpu setups.
Very handy.
