So, I used to do some distributed computing way back in the day with Seti@Home and the contest got me motivated to jump back in. To start, I have my i7-860 box (OC'd to 3.2 Ghz) running the new SMP client. First day I got a small WU and knocked it out and got about 200 points. Then for the last day and a half I got a larger one that in the logs shows up as around 14000 points, yet if I look at my Folding @ Home stats, it's showing up with about 2400 total points.

The client is estimating that I'm doing about 10K-14K/day, so why would I get a big day and a half WU that looks like it's around 14K points and then the stats page only shows I got about 2200 for it?

Hi and welcome to the team.

That to me sounds like a passkey issue, the v7 client always assumes that your passkey is qualified for bonus points. You do have a passkey, don't you?

IIRC, you need to have 10 units completed (QRB qualified units) before you get the bonus points.

Ah, that's probably it then. I'll just let it chug away. Does about 1.5 to 1.75 days/WU sound about right for an i7-860? My estimated time/frame bounces between 22 & 25 minutes.

Depends on the WU, and how many threads you dedicate to F@H, in addition to if you're using the machine.

I'm using all 8 threads, and I do use the machine, but it's not for anything major, just occasional web surfing/email. Most of the time it's just sitting there.

as said, it does sound like your not at the 10 unit mark quite yet. give it a few days.

Will do. One other random question, I have a spare ECS A885GM-A2 motherboard lying around that can handle up to a Phenom II X6 1100t. It worth even thinking about finding a CPU for the board and using it?

If you can get a decent OC, and throw a linux install on, you can get ~15-20k PPD off it still (VERY Overclock dependent), its more can you afford the power usage it will take.....personal preference really.

I get around 16k+ PPD on my 1090T, that's not overclocked running Linux.

Go download HFM.net and configure it. Let it calculate the WUs you're doing, after you've done a few start posting the results from HFM.net.
