configuring dual screen desktop display

ok, here's the deal. i have two dell 2005fpw's. My graphics card is a GeForce 7800+ gtx oc.

The problem is, the way my monitors are set up, the one on the right is the one i use the most, while the left one is extra space. so my set up is like this:

But the way the desktop itself flows, the main monitors desktop connects to the extra by it's right hand edge, and the left hand edge of the extra screen. so placing a window between the two comes out like this:

Is there a way to make it so that my right hand desktop remains my main, but the connection between the two screens is where it's supposed to be, in the middle?

Goto the diplay properties settings tab and drag the little monitors to the way you have them set on your desktop.

oh wow, all that time and that's all i needed to do. damn, thank's a buttload! this as been bugging me for months. :-D
 
ok, another question. i know i found it somewhere, but i dont remember where. how to i let a wallpaper stretch between two monitors?

also, any good sites that have dual monitor wallpapers. i fonud a site called www.digitalblasphemy.com but you gotta pay to use their images...

THey have a free gallery, but it may not have what you want in it.

Oscars Multi-Monitor task bar is something you may like so the second monitor has it's own task bar for the apps running on it.

i'll look at the task bar app, that sounds interesting

otherwise, i'm pretty sure GeForce has a setting for wallpaper stretching across two screens, i just donno where it is...
 
Wallpaper across both monitors is easy if the wallpaper is wide enough, just use the tile option. If you have 1440x900 on both monitors, your wallpaper image must be 2880x900.

still need some good dual screen wallpapers now. lol
 
Hard to find dual screen papers, I make mine by grabbing HUGE hubble images from NASA and using photoshop to crop them down to 2880x900. And make sure that the left monitor has the little check box for "Use this device as the primary monitor" checked. If you don't, the wallpaper will start on the wrong monitor and will look really funny.
