A great local band from saturday night called "The Simpletons." Was my first time shooting this group but they loved the photos and want me to shoot their next show.

300D, Canon 50mm F1.8, ISO 400-800, F1.8, 1/20-1/50 sec.

Thoughts, comments, criticisms welcome!

Nice shots! You've got a lot of great colors there. I think #2 and #6 are the best there in composition and clarity. You may want to try taking somewhat longer exposures and using a small amount of 2nd-curtain fill flash. I did that for some photos like this and this to get a sense of motion without destroying the sharpness and the ambient lighting.

Thanks. I love the colors too - but its hard as hell to shoot in those dim lights. I'm going to work with them on setting up/positioning the lights before the next show, cause they pretty much just throw them up as quickly as possible.

I've been interested in trying out that method you used, I just need to get me a flash before doing so.

I've also picked up the lens hood for my 50mm 1.8, so that'll eliminate that annoying flare you see in a few pics.
