I have a EVGA 8800GTX sittin on my desk. while ago it started artifacting and crashing randomly. I was watercooling it when this happened, and everest gave it normal temps. i tried putting on the old heat sink and nothing, i cleaned and reseated the watercooling gear 3 times and no change so im pretty sure its a hardware problem and not temps.

Well I ended up moving and lost a small box of parts, including the screws to the 8800GTX for the heat sink. i want to send it in for warrenty but need to know, will evga still accpet it even if im missing the screws? I can still send them the heat sink and card packaged nicely and together.
 
I'm not 100% sure, but I think you'll be ok. Call and ask their tech support (you have to do this anyway to get an RMA ticket).

I know they wont void the warranty if you remove the heatsink for an aftermarket unit or a WC setup, so I don't see why they'd void it for missing a few screws from the original HS
