concern about dfi..

1. I don't know who is saying it can't OC, the nf4ut/sli is one of the best overclocking boards I've seen around, hitting the highest fsbs, with the most voltage tweaks available.

2. The only real problem I'm aware of is the 5v voltage tweak, which is an OPTIONAL vdimm option for 3.3 volts and above. At that it is far from everyone who is having problems, however these aren't isolated incidents either (opinion).

Now I don't own this board yet, but I will purchase it today, and expect to be very pleased. If the DFI NF4UT/SLI has somehow become a crap/questionable board in the enthusiast circle it is news to me, as I'd pick this board over ANY other 939 board.
 
Unless you buy some really high performance memory and want to run it at very insane speeds you won't have to worry about the 5v problem. It is only ment for the extreme overclocker and most people will never need to use it.
 
I'd say many would want to use this feature, given the current popularity of winbond memories that respond very well to voltage. However unless you plan on running bh-5, bh-6, ch-5, utt etc. you won't need more than 2.9 volts on the VDIMM. In order to run beyond 3.2 VDIMM you need to change a jumper so that the VDIMM runs off of the 5v rail instead of the 3.3v rail. The highest setting is 4 volts. The problem is that some chipsets blow under this jumper setting, this is not a problem DFI has admitted to, and it's hard to say exactly how many have had this issue, but many have/are running the 5v jumper setting without issue. Like I said, it's just a potential risk when using that voltage option, and info on the deal is still a little shaky.

i dont know where you got that idea from buy many people on the forum including myself use it in order to overclock memory with chips listed in the above post.

remember, you are NOT using 5v. just the 5v rail for the memory (instead of the usual 3.3v)
 
The DFI boards are the best boards for overclocking/tweaking available. There is possibly a problem with the 5V setting but currently DFI says they havn't found it if there is and lots of people are running high voltages to their RAM without problems. Other motherboards dont even offer these higher voltages so your not losing anything if you dont change the 3.3V jumper to 5V for higher then 3.2v anyways.
 
DFI owns all motherboards for overclocking . who ever told u that is a

there have only been a handfull of incidents and thats not saying that the boards were just plaing bad. when you sell 100,000's of items there will be some lemon boards out there. normally you hear the worst on forums and not the best. DFI is the best socket 939 board you can find. and there are proabbly more people running the 5v without problems then there are who have killed there ram/mb.
