A month or two ago some people in my apt's got evicted. Well I was on my way to work and glanced over and saw a computer laying there in the parking lot so I said what the hell and took it, since anything out there is first come first serve, and it has thus been sitting in my apt since I found it. My mom got an LCD monitor so she gave me her old CRT, so I hooked everything up and turned it on and it was giving me some errors "NTLDR Is Missing" so I made a boot disk and I put it in the drive, pressed power and it was having trouble reading hte floppy. So I turned it off, hooked that floppy up to this computer, and it worked. So i knew the floppy drive was good. Then I installed it back into the "bad" computer and pressed power. Nothing happens. The little LED on the mobo is lit so I know the mobo has power. I replaced the PSU with one that I know works and still nothing. Anyone know whats up or should i just give up and throw this thing away? My goal was to just use the computer I found for aim/music and use this computer I am on for games/web browsing and burning DVD's so I can talk on aim on the other one while burning dvd's on this one.

what are the specs on the bad one? is it good enough that you can put some parts into your good one from the bad one?

unplug the floppy drive, those are notorious for going south and causing problems.

Unplug everything, just boot with 1 stick ram, 1 vid card and 1 cpu, no other items should be hooked up.
