Not too great with computer hardware, just an FYI before I tell you about the problem. :p

When I try to turn the computer on, I press the button and nothing happens, nothing at all. No lights, sounds, or movement. I'm thinking it's the power supply, but when this happened before (about 6 months ago), I was told the motherboard is no good. Can anyone explain how that might happen?
 
first off before i get started on the problem, you need to be a little bit more descriptive I.e.-what kinda computer is it, did you build it, what are the parts, did you have it built... etc.

now as far as your problem, do you have the conectors on the mother board that go to the front panel connected right? is everything plugged in? have you had a new motherboard put in it before... when did this all happen, was there a power surge... some feed back will help us help you
 
double & triple check the jumpers. i just had the same problem, and the problem was the jumper on the CMOS CLEAR pins wasn't on correctly.
