Computer won't boot! Please help!

So after playing a bit of warcraft 3, I have the bright idea of restarting my computer. As soon as it restarted, it froze, then the screen went black. I assumed the startup was going to continue, except it never did.

Now whenever I try starting my comp, I hear the fans and water pump go, as well as the cdrom drives and hd, except the screen stays black. Then it shuts off, and everything turns back on again about 3 seconds later. The sceen still stays black, and a deafening beep is heard through my speakers (which are now off). Not even bios around My keyboard lights and optical mouse don't even light up like they normally do when I start my computer.

I'm pretty sure it's not the connections, because I reconnected just about everything. The power supply is also pretty much ruled out since it's a SilenX that I recently got, and i tested it.

Could this be a mobo battery problem? Also, I think I might have applied arctic silver a little too excessively (it just looks so silvery . I did use the card trick though to even it out and scrape the uneven parts out ) so could that be shorting out the video card?

I'm out of ideas....please help.

Even if you recently got the PSU recently, there is the chance that it did go, som let's not rule that out quite yet.

Have you tried clearing your CMOS?

make sure that the CPU block makes good contact with the core..also try different vid card.. I can imagine that it sucks to have a WC setup when troubleshooting hardware..

Okay so i removed my video card (wow that was hard with all the water tubes all over the place) and I removed it, checked the Radeon's GPU and it looks okay (I cleared the area of thermal paste and reapplied it neatly). However, when removing the card, I noticed a capacitor that was bent. It wasn't like that before...and it wasn't the result of me taking the wvideo card out. Can a bent capacitor cause it to not start up like this? It seems extremely easy to move up and down, so something must be off.

Maybe the connections to the capacitor is broken and causing these non-startups, and can I solder them back on safely? Or is it time for me to get a new mobo?

yeah that might be your problem usually they are there for a reason. I wish I could help more just adding my 2 cents keep this near the top

Try (1) another video card or (2) put the same video card in another computer. Your bent capacitor may have something to do with it.

Have you checked the capacitor leads to see it they are broken?

SHIT. I think the water block on the video card must have sprung a leak, because after taking it out again and inspecting it closely, I noticed on the gold contacts of the video card I see a bit of green and some black (NOOOO), as well as a dried blotch on the bottom of my case. Also, within the AGP slot I see some green stuff caked onto the contacts where the card was plugged in.

Both video card and mobo are most likely dead from the water leak, since I tested both on someone else's computer and swaped parts out. RIP ABIT IS7-G and 9800 pro

That fuckin sucks... yet another reason I'll stick to my 6 fans instead of a wc system despite its benefits.
