Computer won't boot (memory?)

hi,

here's my system:
Asus p5b-e
dual core e6400
250GB seagate
2x 1GB OCZ special ops
Sapphire x1950pro

now here's my problem:

my computer won't boot up (nothing on screen) when i start it with my ram (listed above). i've tested the memory sticks on another computer (running memtest for 2h) and i don't get any errors and it runs fine. i tested it with some OCZ gold edition (2 sticks again) and it boots up just fine.

when i try with only 1 stick (the special ops listed above), it also runs just fine (but only with 1 of the stick... the other one won't work even tho it runs just fine on another computer and passes the memtest).

are you lost yet?

well today i tried with another power supply (corsair 520) and same result...

from what i can tell, it has to be something with the voltage or timings?... other than that, i just can tell.

If it's set to "auto"... then based on your description I would have to think your board is the problem... That's just my guess.

So set the voltage for the ram, lol. Most DDR2-800 sticks aren't 1.8v, which is the JEDEC standard voltage for DDR2 memory. Some boards allow you to boot with only a single stick (depending on the board/BIOS), so you can at least get into the BIOS. Once there, set the voltage to 2.1v vDIMM, save/shutdown, and plug in the other stick before booting back up again. You could also tighten the timings manually in the BIOS, since the SPD values are usually set to the JEDEC spec of 5-5-5-15 for DDR2-800.
