I can't figure this one out. It all started when I updated my audigy drivers. In the middle of ut2k4 it shuts down. It booted back up and it wouldn't stay logged on for more than 10 seconds. I booted into safe mode and tried to uninstall the drivers for my sound card...I eventually got them to uninstall...It still shuts down after 10 seconds. After I installed them I did mess with my msconfig to shut off some things that are useless and take up ram. But I'm sure I didn't mess with anything that would cause it to shut down. It's not my wireless card cause I'm in safe mode and on the internet.

I checked my ram and my one module is acting up so I emailed mushkin about it and see if they respond, if not i'm gonna RMA it to newegg...But it's not that because I tried booting from the good error free stick and it still does it.....

I'm really lost here and this is testing all the stuff I know about computers.

I'm about to go out and buy windows XP home full install and format my harddrive....God...all that crap I need to back up and reinstall....and updates....ohhh...great.

have you tried installing older drivers?

wait wait, you couldnt get them to uninstall? Drivers should always uninstall at least somewhat easily...what could you not get uninstalled? The sound card itself? the applications it came with?

I was able to uninstall the drivers from safe mode but it's still crashing on normal mode, I even removed the sound card so windows wouldn't install the drivers.

Ok...They never did uninstall....I uninstalled them via the hardware manager, never thought of looking in add remove PROGRAMS!!!! Time to reboot and hope it works.

Didn't work. Continues to reboot.

just an FYI, pretty much any hardware that comes with a suite of software is going to be able to be installed / uninstalled from add or remove programs. Like video cards, look in there, I bet you will see you video card.

I know that! I wasn't thinking. I'm really stressed right now. I don't have the money for a full install version of windows....man I'm just about to kick this computer. This is not how I wanted to spend my spring break!

Well I fixed it.

I disabled the shut down so I would get a BSOD. I was an IRQ error...Since the wireless card was in the slot my sound card was in it cause it too reboot and not uninstalling the drivers or w/e...well I'm just happy I fiured it out myself....

That's it. I can't get it to not crash. It only kinda boots without the wireless card and sound card not installed in the slots. I'm just fork out the money and buy the full install of home....I tried clearing the cmos, uninstalling all the drivers, changing the slots, I still get the BSOD that says driver_IRQL something something....
