Ok I put together my own computer but its will not activate when i turn it on and my high voltage leds light up like a christmass tree. here is my components.
CPU: I7 920 2.66GHz
RAM: DDR3 -1600 (2 2gig strips)
Mobo: Gigabyte X58-UD4P
Graohics: BFG Geforce GTX 260
CDROM: DVD-Rw/CD-Rw combo
PSU: BFG ES-800w
I have everything connected right (I had a pc tech shop and my IT instructer at my local ITT Tech verify everything is hooked up right) when I turn it on, my leds on my motherboard (which the manual says is for voltage) should be off but they are lit up like a xmass tree.
and after 20-25 seconds my interal speaker starts rapidly beeping. Then my computer shuts itself down. While this is happening I have 0 signal from my computer so i don't even see POST on my screen.
I was wondering why this was happening since the PSU need calculator at Asus's site says that I would need around 655 watts to run it, would putting an 800 in it cause this big of a problem?
