Hey guys, along time since my last post but I have some questions.
I strolled up to microcenter the other day and decided to do a computer upgrade. Thinking spring is here so I probably should. I ended up going with the AMD 3 Platform with ddr3
MSI NF750-G55
Phenom II 550 BE
4 Gig OCZ Low Latency Ram
Patriot PS-100 32g ssd
Asus CuCore 5770
Total Spent was about $570 out the door. A hell of a beasty little machine i think for price I paid. Anyways I upgraded from a Gigabyte UD3P, e5200, and a Radeon 4830 for comparisons sake.
Alright so enough about that.
1. The SSD drive i know is a low end product but I was thinking it would be faster then my wd 640g. Windows rates them both the same. I updated its firmware and it seems to be working fine. Am I missing any W7 optimizations?
-Turned off Indexing
-Moved pagefile to 640g drive
-Turned off defrag
2. I'm pretty sure I picked a good batch on the 550 processor. I get it to unlock but I cant get it to boot into windows. It stops as soon as it hits the windows "loading" screen. I am uncertian of how the voltage works on AMD so I figured i would ask here. I also don't understand how to unlock it from core to core.
-MSI NF 750-G55 Bios rev 1.0.
-I tried Turning off Cool 'nQuiet
-Upped CPU voltage .05
3. CPU-Z says this board has the nforce 740a sli. Review sites say its "MSI NF750-G55 (Nvidia nForce 750a MCP xx BIOS)". It does have the options to unlock, would a BIOS upgrade be a good idea since its not showing the right sbridge?
