I built this computer 3 months ago. Up until now it has worked fine. Yesterday when I was browsing the internet it shut down. Now when I try to power up, the power light and fans turn on for about 3 seconds and then the computer shuts down. There are no beeps, and nothing shows up on the monitor.

I reset the CMOS battery, but the comp still doesn't work. Any ideas?

did you move the CMOS jumper or just took out the battery. If so you need to switch of your PSU then set the CMOS jumper to clear wait like 1 min or more then put everything back.

I switched in a different power supply and it worked. My Thermaltake 420W power supply must've gone bad.

test the PSU on another mobo to see if its really dead. Or take the mobo off the mobo tray and try it. Might have gotten shorted
