kinda like burning, but not so much as it would smell if it was actually burning

is it possible that because the build is from entirely new parts and its only like 5 days old that it still has that "new" smell

go in there with a compressed air duster, it could be that you have some hair/dust/debre in there that got singed due to heat or other factors.

if that doesnt work try opening it up and airing it out for a few days

I would take it apart and smell the PSU individualy, if that starts frying it could take out everything. If you cannt locate the smell to one part then, its probably just "new comp" smell.

What Shakezilla said. Also, sometimes there is a slight oil-like coating on comp parts. It's used to keep moisture and whatnot off the board, and during use it smells a little like burning plastic. If that's the case, the smell will go away in a little while.

Some parts smell really strong. Like the new PSU I got the other day, smelled like paint. It could also be your upper lip

It sounds like you got dust onto something that gets hot. Just blow everything off good.
