Computer Shutting Off

If I don't have a floor fan propped up against my computer, it turns off. (I'm using a floor fan right now)

If I play a new game or use a lot of processing/RAM power, my computer shuts off, even with the floor fan.

(Powersupply came with my case, it isn't that good. The heatsink has been working so far... maybe I need a new one)
Comp stats = AMD 3200+, 1.25 gigs ram, 2 HDD's, Radeon 9800, lousy 400watt power supply

Is it my heatsink or powersupply? How do I fix this random turning off thing..

I'd say its a COOLING problem. Most computers' mobos have a safety feature that turns the comp off when it gets too hot. Try checking to see if your heatsink is properly put on, and if it is, try adding some case fans, get a new heatsink FAN, or even a new heatsink.
 
Could be a bit of both Electical componants get less effecient the hotter they get your psu could already be stressed and dust could be the straw teh broke teh camels back.

I Suggest you install Speedfan and tell us what temprature your CPU is reading. This will help us all dignose your problem a little more precisly,

Although my Gut instint would be your PSU is experinacing Thermal overload.
 
it sounds like your system is overheating - what temps are you running? ..it might be the PSU problem too - what voltage readings do you get?
