my computer shuts off now when I adjust the FSB to 166. Then a red light comes on, which is the CPU overtemp LED. In the manual it says that the computer will shut off when temps reach over 85c. Now I also have a sensor on this thing that I can read on my front display. It displays 37c idle and ruffly 43c full load. Even the built in cpu temp says the same thing!

I dont understand it, I installed windows @ 200fsb x 12 =2.4ghz!

Only thing I can think off is I somehow damaged something doing a pinmod.

Anyway I can disable this in bios or somehow?

It would help to give us some specs on your computer... And you can check the BIOS yourself for the ability to disable the overheat auto-shutdown, it shouldn't be too hard to find.

sry, I checked bios already and there was nothing.

NEC DVD Burner
WD Raptor 36gb
160gb Maxtor.

i just opened it back up, checked the sensor, and pushed it down a little bit to make sure it didnt get loose. Currently running 166fsb....about to run prime95....and im afraid it wont pass more than 2 min...

edit - maybe i fixed it, i dunno. Seems to be running fine now...just weird...
