Computer shuts down automatically

Hey guys,
My system shuts down whenever I try to reformat. I would boot from the windows cd and after a few minutes it would just shutdown. Windows boots fine and doesn't shutdown by itself. It's only when I boot from something else. I have no clue whats going on. It shutsdown by itself when I use Ghost as well. Has this happened to anybody? Any clues? Thanks guys.
