I recently purchased a 7950, and seem to be having an issue since I installed this card. The computer does a hard shutdown when my computer is sitting idle. I tested this out by letting a movie play for an hour, let a video game sit on for an hour. But if let the PC sit idle for more than 20 min it will shutdown. When I reboot, I am asked if I want to start windows normally or in safe mode.

I am stumped on this one.

20 minutes is the default time for monitor sleep. Disable it.

Left the computer on and disabled sleep mode. Computer did not hard shut down. This seems to have diagnosed the problem, however, I do not consider this a permanent fix.

There must be something else I can do to resolve this problem.

Thanks for your help.

There's nothing you can do. It's a known bug with the card having issues due to something about the ULV clocks upon waking up. Only solution is to use manual s1 or s3 sleep, which works perfectly, instead of auto sleep. Sorry....

Just don't worry about it. There are FAR bigger things in life to worry about than something like this..
