computer running slow

I am running Windows XP on my work computer that is mostly used for Auto Cad 2002. It is running very slow under my user name but runs fine under a different user name. I looked at the task manager and found that under my user name the cpu usage is reaching 100% yet it is only going to 25% for the same action under the other user name. I downloaded and ran Ad-aware 6.0 and Spybot and that did not help. I appreciate any help in finding the problem.

go under your "Processes" and look at which file is using up the CPU. See if its a trojan/virus/ or something. As long as its not a usable program file or anything, I would delete it.

Thanks for the suggestion, I went to process and found that under my user name when I saved in autocad it used 98% of the cpu. I then tried excel and it used 3% and word used 5%. I went to the other user name and autocad only used 32%, excel used 3% and word used 3%. I do not know if this info helps or just makes things more confusing. All I know is that I can not use my user name and still work quickly.

Or logging in as an admin, removing your profile and logging in fresh to create a new profile? That might help, assuming of course you don't have roaming profiles, or something loading from the network causing your problems.

I think FanZ meant you should list the processes by CPU time when idle. Any CPU-hog will stand out.

Before I reinstall autocad or get a new user name, I know it is long but I posted the results from running Startuplist. My Question here is does it look ok?

Also when the computer is idle, the only thing running in the task manager is the system idle process.

If everything looks good I will try reinstalling the program and / or seting up a new user name.

Its always best to avoid revealing accounts on a particular computer
it wouldnt do much good to anyone if they dont know your IP
but for instance I can see your IP

it looks normal as far as I can tell
svchost.exe is a generic Service Host Process and could be a great number of things
"Application that works as a host process for services that run from dynamic link libraries"
but thats not an abnormal number of them

Thanks for the edit, I feel a little stupid since I glanced for my user name and missed that spot.

It looks like I am going to reinstall autocad and see what happens.
