Computer Restarts When Idle.

Well my computer has recently been randomly restarting when i leave it alone for an hour or more, it never restarts when im acctually using it. I had this problem awhile back but it seemed it fix itself.
Anyone know of a virus or something that could be causing this?
Specs are the first comp in the sig, PSU is an antec 350W smartpower.
 
The Antec Smartpower line is barely a step above generic supplies. However, since this is happening at idle, not under full load, I am stumped. Sounds software related to me
 
There are several viruses that could cause your machine to reboot. Viruses like Blaster and Sasser that exploit the RPC flaw are two good examples. If you suspect a software issue, download all the available Windows updates, update the drivers for all your hardware, and scan with up-to-date antivirus software (If you don't have any, download BartPE and use its McAfee plugin to scan). Check your event logs to see if there's a certain program that's causing the reboots. Disable reboot on error to see if there's a BSOD error. And if none of that helps, maybe it's time to start running hardware diagnostics; Memtest86 for the memory and your HD manufacturer's diags are a good place to start. Tracking down random reboots is seldom easy, hopefully this will give you a good start.
 
It could also be your power settings. I'm thinking that it could be your computer going into standby or hibernation mode, crashing, and then rebooting.

Or some POS custom screen saver app that is a crashing your PC as it initializes.

I would also recommend checking your event logs to see what it being recorded in them. The culprit may already be named for you.

After that, I would run diagnostics on all your hardware.

im mostly positive its software related since i recently got new ram and it still does it.
ill just format this weekend or something...
 
not bad ram, i just switched my ram and it had the prob with each set of ram.
and it only does it idle, i can play games all day long and it wont restart.
 
while i dont' know what it is (shouldn't be PSU b/c it's not under load, shouldn't be RAM b/c you're not USING it if it's idle) i DO have a solution.
