my computer ither freezes or restarts after starting the campaing in far cry. im running a 9800 non pro(slightly oced) and a ath. 2200+

if anyone is to help you its gonna take alot more information. what sort of trouble shooting haev you done so far?

same thing happened to me... but only AFTER I tweaked the FarCry video settings which was to much for my 9500Pro to handle.

only way I was able to correct was reset to defaults in the FryCry setup and leave everything set to ?? I believe it was Auto-settings ?? or the like.

worked after that.

also, if your not using the latest Omega drivers www.omegacorner.com your missing out !!

(just might solve all kinds of issues)

I don't know about the rest of you guys, but when I have severe problems with a game, I first think that its the video card, unless its an obvious problem.

I'd check for your latest drivers first.

1. i read someware that omega dosnt run far cry,
2.ok, im running a ath 2200+ on a fic kt400 mobo with a gig of ram, it doesnt seem to work at eny settingsive used(1024*768, 1280*960, or 1600*1200) or eny quolity settings. im running cat 4.1's and just got the dl yesterday from the shack. i tryed bringing my card down to stock, which didnt help, and playing around in the settings

power supply? perhaps the game is more taxing on you system than your current PSU can cope with?...

no, i got a good 400 what psu, and im running relativly mundain components. andi have most of my fans unpluged(for night running, never had heat probs, and their loude as hell) enywhay, im shure its not heat, psu, or a broke somthing or other, as it is only far cry that has probs

mine would reboot when i was running my CPU at a FSB it didnt like...my current 2500+ bitches at anything above like 196mhz FSB sure windows and benches run fine at 230FSB...games wont damn barton :(
on a side note..my system will post and half way load windows at 258mhz :p

Make sure your drivers are up to date. Might want to return card to orginal clock speed. And in your Bios turn your AGP into 4X from 8X just to try.

does it restart only in sertain programs or after your computer has been on for a little bit. if its either of those, are you running a sound card or onboard? if your running onboard u need to do a update. go to windows update and go to driver update and look for somthing with sound. it should be one of the last ones. if you cant find it do all of the driver updates cause you really need to anywaz.

didicated sound card, and im running cat. 4.1s, so im going to try running 4.2's. and it just freezes or restarts. nomater what im running

could be a number of things. if u have it figured out cool. if you dont you might want to try a new case. with my case it would restart because of the sound. i went out and bought a new case and my comp ran perfect. then a couple of days later i found that sound update. but try a new case and if it works then its your sound devices. if it doesnt just return it and replace one thing on ur comp at a time. like try the memory and if that doesnt do it return the memory then try a mobo and if that doesnt work return it and so on.

no no no... i had my case and it would restart. i replaced everthing on it except the sound card. i was using onboard. nothing worked so i returned it. it kept restarting so i thought there was a short or something in the cables from the powerbutton to the mobo. i bought i new case and it worked fine. i went back to my old case and thought about wut i haddnt replaced. i figured that i didnt replace the sound. i put everything back into the old case and put a sound card in. i ran it 5 days straight without a restart. at that point i knew it was the sound. a couple of days later i was looking at updates and found the sound update. i downloaded it and took out the sound card and used onboard. i then again ran it for 3 days with out a restart. i knew it was the connectors from the case to the sound. you see what im saying now. let me break it down a little bit. my old case would restart. bought everthing new. still restarted. bought new case. ran perfect. bought sound card. old case ran perfect with sound card. looked on windowsupdate found sound update. installed it. took out soundcard used onboard. ran perfect. therefor it was sound...
