Hello,
I was on my computer fine today when all of a sudden it restarted, didnt think it was anything big but now every 30-60 seconds it restarts itself, in safe mode it works fine but there doesnt seem to be any hardware problems. I dont think its a heat issue as my cpu is running at around 33 degrees. Any ideas? Thanks.

may be a psu or ram isssue, turn down any overclocks you have and check for virus's

Well I'll do that, but now i cant even get into xp, only safe mode and when booting after all the post stuff i hear two slight clicks from somewhere and it restarts.

  1. set everything back to default speeds (via BIOS)
  2. run virusscan/spyware in safe mode (or from a bootable OS (ie BartPE/WUBCD))
  3. run scandisk
  4. run memtest86
also, xbreaka....what's up with that sig....HUGE!!!! :D

Well, memory checked out. I'll report back with others.

Edit: Alright, when i try to scan for viruses even in safe mode it just restarts. Gonna try barebones.

Edit: Hmm, works fine (Stress testing by rendering images in terragen :D) with no modem, gonna try a differnt pci slot on it, wish me luck XD

Hmm, it worked for like an hour but it restarted again and now im here at [h] typing as fast i can, everything checked out fine. Im really stummped :(

your hd may be dieing or seriously corrupted, try a reformat and try to safe what you can in safe mode.

If the clicks you heard are what I think they are, they are coming from the hard drive. Not a good thing, and its probably causing the problems you are having.
