I was surfing the net, then all the sudden my computer restarted itself randomly. It never made it back to Windows. At one point I got it to start loading safemode, then it froze. Now all I can get it to, is the safemode select screen, and when I select any option, it freezes immediatly.

I switched out the RAM, so I know that's not the problem. I unplugged everything but the keyboard, power, and video and it still. I get an error "Secondary IDE Channel no 80 conductor cable installed". I did some research and everything I read about that error says it may slow my hard drive down, but it wont keep it from running correctly.

My current setup is 2 hard drives on the same IDE cable, and 1 dvd drive on the other. i tried disconnecting the secondary hard drive, and the problem still persists.

Any guesses?

thanks
