Computer Randomlyl Restarts.. WTF?

My new computer I just built randomly restarts. At first I thought it was the PSU but I'm not sure. When I first recieved my PSU ( Vigor 450W Sleeved ), It was dead on arrival. So I'm on my 2nd PSU.

My computer randomly restarts. Here are my specs:

AMD 64 3500+
Asus K8v Delux
1GB Corsair XMS 3200 RAM
2x 80GB HDDS
Vigor 450W Sleeved PSU

Any ideas? Are there programs that can help test the stability of my comp? Btw, I don't think its a tempature problem b/c my PSU is running at nice temps. When the computer boots up again it says : "The system has recovered from a serious error." in a windows popup.
 
does your BIOS give you temp readings and such? i would see if it displays voltage too, as it really could be running low on the different lines. never heard of that PSU, but it might be good, might be bad. also, check temps of ur CPU, as sometimes i had random reboots when temps were too high. to test stability, you could get Prime95, but the site is down. ah, here we go. Go to "Options" select "Torture Test" and try the "In-Place large FFTs" and monitor temps, and then try "Blend". If it fails, then u have a hardware/temp problem. Or you're CPU isn't stable. Also, try MemTest or Golden Memory (google is ur friend) and see if your memory is in fact bad. Otherwise, try reinstalling Windows as a last resort.
