computer randomly shuts down

my computer randomly shuts down, and sometimes evens turns on for no reason.
what are the possible reasons?
my ram is new, so it isnt my ram, perhaps the slots itself?
or maybe even the power supply?

what should i do?
i appreciate your help

What you should do is read through the stickied Troubleshooting Guide and start from there.

Oh and just because the RAM is new does not rule it out as a possible issue.

Is the computer connected to a good surge protector?
