Hey guys,
I put this computer a few months ago and everything was going great. My parents decide to remodel the house so w/e. My dad buys a new fuse box and decides to wire it up. Well, assuming he knew what he was doing, I just waited patiently for him to get finished. When he got everything hooked up, he goes to turn the power on. My PSU starts pooring smoke out of it. Needless to say, I'm pissed.
Well I just got a new PSU in today and hook everything up. Come to find out, I get no display on my monitor. My fans get power (including my heatsink fan) and also the fan on my video card. My keyboard doesn't work and my USB mouse works in certain USB ports. So my conclusion is that my mobo is shot. I'm going to swap out Mobo's tomorrow with a friend's that he doesn't use anymore. So my question is, is there anything else I can check for other fried components. Oh and btw, my DVD burner seems to be dead too. Yay.

Thanks in advance guys.

Sounds like a bum deal :(

Just hook the basics up at first and install windows.

If that goes without a hitch then slowly, one by one, attach each other component you have to the computer. If that component does not freeze the computer then attach another and so forth.

Good luck with it.

IceDigger gave pretty sound advice. Sounds to me like a shot mobo though. Hopefully the new one'll shed some light on it. Sucks though.. :(
