Did this just start happening recently, or has it been an ongoing thing?

If it is recent, I would definetly try reinstalling video drivers as that is probalbly the first thing to suspect.

Ive already tried reinstalling video drivers with different types and this has been happening foe about a month.

When it crashes or reboots does anything happen, like a bunch of colors, or is it a straight CTD, or just a hard lockup and next thing you know BIOS is rebooting

When it crashes back to the desktop its as if nothing has happened and everything seems to be fine but when it reboots it gives me a message on the desktop saying your computer has recovered from a serious error and besides that everthing else seems to be fine.

Download and run Memtest86.
That will checkout your memory for errors.
Let it loop around 3 times and post the results back.

If not a memory error then start looking at temps & voltages.
Run a copy or two of Prime95 for a few hours to check that the CPU is stable.
That will bring the cpu up to full load so you should get the max temp from that.
Then add a loop of 3dMark in on top of Prime95.
If it survives that then your computer is STABLE.
Start looking at the soundcard drivers, etc, etc, as the cause of your error.
That my basic stability test.

Luck........ :D

turn off restart when when system failure and you should get a bsod instead of rebooting...im on 2k here but xp bout the same...right click on my computer....properties....advanced...startup and recovery...and uncheck teh automatically reboot
See what the blue screen says and that will help determine your prob. :D

Thanks for the replys, will try everything and get back tommorow and see what happens.
