computer problem weird...

My computer clicks at me when i turn it off. Its consistent its a double click noise. Spaced about 2 seconds for every set. . This will happen for about 10 seconds or longer and will either stop or Boot my computer back up on its own. Last time this clicking happened i took out my nic card and the computer stopped clicking after every shut down. Now there is nothing for me to take out unless its my video card so i dont know what else to do.

my motherboard is a nForce™2 Ultra 400-based AN7, i have updated the bios.

If that wasn’t enough just resonantly I got a cmos check some error too. I have replaced the battery but i still get it.

Any suggestions?

First try your best to find out the location of the click.

It seems to be coming from the mother board. There is a little red led panel on the mother board that is clicking back and forth through sybols and numbers i think ill have to look at it when i get a chance but im pretty sure its the motherboard that is doing the clicking.

do you have a short on the board? How long has it been like this?

I don't think he'd be able to know if there's a short on the board
and yeah, power supply =)

Im not sure if thats the exact one but i wouldnt be surpized.

and nothing is busted on the motherboard from what i can tell.

Do you have access to a spare PSU you can try on?
The only way to figure out the cause is by trial and error.

Eliminating the possibilities. But starting with the parts that's easier to replace.
