I turned on my comp this morning and it would boot it said one of the windows system files was missing that i needed to restore. so i just reformatted and now my computer is running slow as crap. I have a Gateway FX510XG. i have no idea what the problem is. i cant run things cuz it takes so long i tried opening up bf2142 and the first time it opened and froze then the 2nd time it just closed. any ideas?

Assuming you really did a full reformat, did you reload all of your drivers, starting with the chipset drivers?

It's not much fo a help know, but you could have fixed that error using the recovery console and/or a quick repair install.

You boot from your XP CD and follow the options for a repair.
