Motherboard: Asus Rampage Formula
Videocard: 9800 GTX
Ram: G.Skill 8000 (2x2GB)
OS: Windows Vista Ultimate 32x
PSU: PC Power & Cooling 750 watt
Card Reader: Lian Li 20 in 1
Case: Lian Li PC-B25B "Blue Ring"
CPU: Q9450 (Stock)

It has been turned on and off over the past few weeks with no trouble at all. It booted the first time after completing the build. It has run 24 hours for several days in a row with no issue.

I just put together my new computer. It has been running flawlessly for two weeks. I went on vacation for the weekend and now it will not turn back on. All the lights on the motherboard, sound card, and card reader are blinking. When I press the power button absolutely nothing happens. The fan on the power supply does not even turn on. I tried disconnecting the system from the surge protector and plugging it directly into the wall outlet and still nothing happens. I do not know what the blinking lights mean. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. !!!!! Please Help !!!!!

I really doubt it was a surge because there were no storms, it was connected to a APC surge protector over the weekend, and my last computer has survived for six years connected directly to a wall outlet with a POS $20.00 PSU.

Can you try another PSU?

There doesn't have to be a storm for there to be a surge. And one good surge one can knock out most "surge protectors."

I found out what was causing the computer not to boot. It was the Razer Lycosa keyboard of all things. When I plugged in the two USB cables and tried to boot the computer all the lights inside the case began to flash (the PSU fan would not even kick on). When I removed the keyboard everything started up just fine and all the lights stopped blinking. I tested the keyboard out on another computer just to make sure it was not the motherboard and what do you know it caused all the lights inside the second test computer to blink the same way.

I think its time to switch back to a Microsoft keyboard. Overall, I think the packaging for the Lycosa is subpar. The top of the keyboard is only protected by very thin cardboard and the top cover on the box looks like it is about to bust open just sitting on the store shelf. I initially liked the look and feel of the Lycosa but I am not going to run the risk of getting another damaged or defective keyboard.
