I have 2x500 gb SATA II hd. I also have a OCZ synapse 64 gb.

Recently I noticed that my computer was not responsive after turning it on for few hours. All stuff I press on the keyboard does not work. The mouse can move freely on the screen though nothing happens when I click on something. I thought the computer was stuck, until I restarted the pc, after the BIOS boot screen, only to hear the spinning HD sound. I'm not sure if this is the primary or the secondary HD. Tried ctrl+alt+del, nothing happens

Then I get the message from windows saying the pc was not turned off properly. Do I want to start as normal, safe mode, scan etc. I have never come across this kind of problem where the hd only gets re-engaged post-boot so I'm not sure what the problem is. Any ideas?

After googling around I found this:

Same problem with me, only that I don't know which HD is affected.

yeah
happens to me every time I format windows and dont set my power settings.. if i do a hard reset, upon bootup it says 'resuming windows'..

its got something to do with power save, windows and your mainboard. i have been lazy to figure it out so i just turned to performance in the power settings.

Never happened before, did not change any settings prior to that.

After running the Seagate tool, I noticed that the error was from the main drive. I did the "long generic" from the SeaTools for windows, and it did say "Long generic - pass" but the pc froze after that. Though weirdly I can still use the keyboard alt controls and cycle through the options in the seagate menu though I can't do nothing else about it. Mouse froze, though that may be due to me taking the dongle and using my laptop with the mouse.
