We just bought a new Abit AN7 nforce2 board for my younger brother, and when we plug everything in and turn it on... It goes for a couple secones (no display visible) and then it powers off, making a weird siren sound. Any help you could give us is greatly appreciated.

Video: Geforce FX 5700 Ultra

CD-RW
350W PS

Looks like you'll be getting a new power supply then too.
 
they moved g/h to the bottom so people wouldnt post everything in it and it was goin real good.. dont know whats been happening lately.

...and yeah, its prolly the power supply, if you have any laying around just put it in to see if it works.
 
A two tone siren sound is normal bios beep code for CPU overheating.
Check which bios you have got and what that beep code stands for.
Check that the heatsink is on flat and that the fan is pluged in.

yeah.. this might be overheating protection.. try reseating the HSF unit.. and make sure the PSU fan works as it should..
