I use a cable box, it has a DVI output which requires HDCP. If I get a monitor that supports HDCP, I should be able to use it as a TV Correct? Then I could hook my computer up to it via D-sub. What is the maximum resolution of D-sub (can I output 1280x800 or something like that)? Also I am thinking of the E207WFP, but can anyone else suggest a monitor that supports HDCP that is under $300, I would like built in speakers but with dells at least you can buy their speaker bar.
I am also looking at the westing house 19 inch, which I can get for $320 on JR. Is this TV any good for what I want to do? I heard that the sound is crappy, but better bad speakers than none.
After looking around more I found the AL2216Wbd. Amazon says this has 2 dvi ports, but no where else does. I can not find the official specs, can anyone clear up if this does actually have 2 dvi ports, and if it has HDCP?

Can anyone help? I try not to bump threads but I have been looking everywhere (bestbuy, circuit city, compusa, newegg, ecost, apple, pricegrabber) but I can not find an lcd monitor that fits what I need, also I am not even sure it will work, please help me here.

I would recommed the e207wfp. Yes you can run high res over d-sub. I can run 1920x1200. You cannot use the speaker bar with the e207wfp, they are only for ultrasharp line. The speaker bar is a waste as are buillt in speakers. Cheapo pc speakers will sound far better. You can get an awesome three piece 68 watt speaker system for $60 at BB. You dont want a 19" for tv. 20" is just the right size and is great for pc as well. The e207 is very affordable and it is said to be pretty good quality. Its also has a great 3 year limited warrenty that comes standard. The res for this monitor is 1680x1050. Your vid card should be able to handle that over d-sub. Go for that and an inexpensive speaker set. Most come with an adaptor cable that will plug right into your cable box. Please post pics when you get this all toger!

My problem is that using separate speakers I will either need to turn on the speakers every time I want to use them, or turn the cable box on and off. Right now I have a nice compact stereo set which I could probably use, plus I can turn that on and off with a remote. I plan on wall mounting the monitor above my desk, the whole reason I am getting it is to save space. I have heard that wall mounting is not to hard with a small lcd but I what do people do with the wires? I am not so into putting wholes in my wall, but I don't want to do a crap job.
About the LCD Size this is for a fairly small room, this is in no way the "home theater" in my house, so I think that 19 or 20 would do fine. Anything is better than what I have now. What ever I do I am waiting until january 9th, I have high hopes that apple will improve their lcd line.
edit:
I completely missed you there, I thought you were talking about the $360 one, but the e207wfp is the one I was already looking at, so its good I was sort of on the right track by myself.

Why not just leave the speakers on? I never turn mine off. Also, doesn't your cable box
have a volume control built in? just turn the speaker volume up all the way and use the box's control to adjust it with the remote. Mounting lcd's makes them look awesome deffinantly go with that. To achieve a clean proffesional looking install you will have to go through the wall. Heres an easy solution: http://www.projectorbundles.com/browseproducts/Double-Gang-Bulk-Cable-Wall-Plate.html

Mine does, its not a problem with adjusting the volume when I am watching tv, it is a problem with turning sound off when I am not watching tv. I think that just muting the tv will work though.

The Guide will not auto refresh, my box can take up to 10 minutes to do that, I do not want to have to wait 10 munites every day, Though if it does mean saving $200, It is ok.
