Holy shit!!!!

I have just down a few hundred bucks on my HTPC, everything was well. Today I got the order for my Svideo to RCA adapter. So I hooked everything it up, as I plug the Power cable in, the box flashed and I pulled it right out.

I brought to my main rig and tried it out.

I am able to go to the Bios and it goes onto the XP Pro boot screen, afterwards it just goes onto a black screen and the monitor sleeps.

My question is, what is exactly fried? The motherboard?

Help

you have to be way more specific.. what did you actually bring to your main rig? ..whatever it is I'd say that the PSU or motherboard is dead..

I brought the whole rig and hooked it up to my Monitor on my main rig. I think I figured out what caused the shortage, it was my bullshit JVC CRT TV, asswipe!!

So I am now taking the whole system apart, hopefully I can figure out what is up.

But what do you think I should do?

My HTPC
Antec Aria
AMD 2600
Stock HSF
512mb ram

Since I am able to boot the Bios, and everything, I doubt that it is the motherboard.

The thing is, I am able to change the Bios setting around and etc. It even knows what devices are attached to it. It is just after the XP Boot screen, where that is that scrolling thing on the bottom of the XP Logo, it just goes to black and that is it.

sounds like a voltage or heat problem to me. ajust your Vcore.

It is not a Voltage or Heat problem. I took apart everything, down to the motherboard. Reinstalled everything including reapplying some Shin Etsu.

Reinstalled Windows and everything is running now.

My only beef is that the TV is dead now. I just got back from throwing it away. Luckily that was a hand me down TV, so need to save up and shop for a new TV.

have you concidered ither running a window's repair, or running a format on ur hd's? it sounds like it may just be a softwear problem, ur puter isnt fried, if it was it woudn't even turn on and definatly wouldnt load the window's splash screen.

Yeah, not too sure what happened. Everything happened so fast.

As long as my HTPC is fine, I am ahrite. I was going to purchase a new TV soon, so that's ahrite. This gives me a better reason.

Hey, do you guys use a Power Surge or something for your TV?
