specs first:
dell 400sc, 2.4 ht, 2x256, 9600xt, xp pro sp1, leadtek deluxe 2000xp

it seems that whenever i have my tv runnin in the background and im surfin the internet my computer freezes.....the sound works fine but the moust stops moving, ctrl/alt/del doesnt do anything, and the only option i have is to hard restart. this happened 1x when i was watchin internet tv on winamp. so i believe it is a video problem? i thot it was my logitech mx700 mouseware software since it always seems to happen after i click a button (but i click a button every second?) but i uninstalled it and it still freezes.....any suggestions?.....thanks guys!

what are the temps of the system? freezing SOMETIMES means it's overheating. even though, in my experience the computer just reboots when overheating.

does the problem only happen when using specific programs?

if it only happens on wimamp tv, then that's the source of the issue. try a reinstall

if not, it could be hardware related. Run memtest for a 24hr cycle. if that passes, test the hard drive, and then it's most likely the mainboard having issues

im almost 100% sure its not overheating since i've played games on it for hours and hours and ran sandra and mobo mon and temps are good (45 i think under load?)......imma do a clean install and see how that goes.....sux....it only happened recently.....the computer ran fine for 3 days non stop (w/o leadtek tv or winamp tv)....but after 1/2 an hour of watchin tv and surfin the ie it freezes......

Any log files generated to help zero in on the problem? I had the same mouse click and freeze problem but got lucky and found a log file that helped me figure out the problem.

hmmmm i updated to the newest vid drivers.......still freezes......how wierd that i can still hear the sound of the tv yet everything else dont work......
