I recently built a new computer with an eVGA 8800GTX 512 graphics card. I experence random freezes which requires a shutdown/restart with power button. My Crysis game always freezes at randon points in the game. I have ran Memtest86+ on my memory and have not found any problems with memory dimms. Could this be my graphics card? I had this problem in Vista and now also in WinXP. I am not overclocking except my memory and motherboard sets the FSB to 400MHz to run memory at 1600 MHz based on the Corsair memory XMP profile. (Also have seven 120mm case fans in LianLi A71 case). I don't believe heat could be a problem.

How can I test the GPU and/or motherboard? What should I do?

Asus P5E3 Deluxe/WiFi, Intel Penryn QX9650 Quad Core, 2 GB Corsair 1600C7DHXIN, eVGA 8800GTX 512, Corsair HX620 PSU, running 5 WD5000AAKS hard drives, and 1 CD/DVD combo writer.

I saw some freezes with my 8800GT, because of the memory on the video card. Try running nTune's stability test for GPU only for 30 minutes.
