Hi,

I decided to buy a computer and build it myself. Everything works fine except for one thing... The computer freezes/lags for about 1-2 second when I´m browsing through internet, I´m using Google Chrome right now, everything just freezes but comes back to normal after 2 seconds, more like it´s lagging. It occurs about every hour or so, . What could this be? Could it be the harddrive, or something else? So far I´ve only experienced it when using internet Google Chrome but I haven´t had much time to try out the computer. I know it´s almost impossible to know the cause of this, but perhaps someone experienced something similar and know the solution?

I had the update the BIOS because apparently it was outdated for using GTX 670, the bios works with 670 after updating it though... my thought was, perhaps it´s something to do with the video card but who knows.

My PC spec is:
Core i5-3570K
GA-Z77X-UD5H Motherboard
XXX Edition 650W 80+ Bronze
Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM
GTX 670 OC Direct CU 2

i experience some kind of the same issue, but are only with certain webs.. and only happens the firts time i open that web... it will not happens again until i restart my pc and open the same web again... not every time.. and the pc get full freeze for 1-2secs.. not only google chrome.. even the Core Temp gadget on my G510 get frozen for that time.

are you using a wireless or wired connection for the internet?

ive experienced lag in the past when using certain hardware while connected wirelessly.

in my case all its wired... just use the wifi when I move my pc to others places of my house.. and perform identhical.. its only with google chrome on certain pages..

Firat impression is a dns lookup timeout. 2s is about the dns lookup time out length

Well, I experienced something similar when I rebuilt my wife's PC and upgraded her from windows XP to windows 7. The issue ended up being the wireless card, causing hardlock ups and reboots. Your issues could be PSU, RAM, or HDD related. In the event you have the same damn Dlink card I had, it's that! Shoot it!

Same thing happens for me, but only on one site, and like Araxie it only happens once and then everything works fine. I'm running wired and have been using Google DNS for quite some time now, and it happens with both IE and Chrome. I haven't found any explanation or fix, but since mine is expected for the one site I've learned to live with it. Here's a short list of some of my troubleshooting steps:

Switching DNS servers / services
Wireless instead of wired
Disabling QoS and NDIS filter
Switching AV software (tested with Kaspersky/Webroot/MSE)
Rolling back to earlier versions of browsers (IE and Chrome)
Updating all drivers to latest version
Rolling back vid drivers to previous WHQL
Disconnecting all peripherals other than keyboard
Testing with live-boot Linux distro (no freeze for both Ubuntu and Mint)

My best guess is some kind of HTML stack overflow, but like I said that's only a guess.
