UGGHH... Please help!!...Computer freezes and then beeps ok, i just built a system
p4 3ghz, ht 800fsb
ecs (el cheapo mobo)
512 meg kingston valueram pc3200
pny verto 6800.
120gb pata 8mb maxtor
ok, everything is running stock havent overclocked anything. What happens is occasionally prolly twice a day, ill be in the middle of something and then all the sudden the windows will stop responding, i can move the mouse, but not anything else. if i click the mouse several times, the whole screen freezes and the system beeps constantly so i have to power down....this is driving me mad...any help would be awesome.
 
Is there any one program that is running while it freezes or is it an array of programs that it freezes.

and also has it always done this. if not did you change anything before it started happening? hope you can understand the question.
 
i just put it together maybe 3 days ago...has been doiong it since then. mostly, it seems to happen when im using internet explorer...funny thing is i can run doom 3/HL2 for hours on end and it wont freeze once...
 
Well... You can be relatively certain it's a software issue then...
 
Sorry if its a brandnew computer and been doing this ever since... it could just possibly be a number of things. wish i could help more.
