computer engineer asks for advise

One think you have to remember, most of the book in learn from school is 1-3 years back. Also they only teach you the foundation and general knowledge of the field. Most of your experience will be gain on your job.

this is college... if you're books are covering things from 3 years ago.. then you should be going to another school....

i'm taking a computer architecture class.. and we're studying the Cell processor... i don't nkow.. colleges shoudl be teaching very up to date stuff...

in my Digital integrated circuits class.. we discuss alot of what intel and AMD are currently doing (including some dual core stuff)

however.. you are right.. that you gain a lot of knowledge from actually working and stuff...

You go to UFla?

I googled "Digital integrated circuits class" and I found a lecture talking about Pentium 4's and how they cancelled the 4Ghz processor. Hahah...how I wish I was taking classes on this (I'm a civil engineer, god knows why).

LOL Dr. thompson.. yea he's the one teaching my class LOL...
Thompson use to work at intel actually.. he's like a distiguished intel fellow.. or some crap like that.. in other words.. in intels eyes.. he was a bad ass..

those sides was stuff he talked about the first day of class i believe....a brief history on everything...

Please be more realistic in your comparisons. The Compaq Proliant 5500 uses integrated Rage Pro graphics, which was the real reason it sucked for games.
