I was wondering if there are any good sites out there that serve as a resource for teaching about computers from the most basic level. For example explination of the intel chip architecture, history on the development of the early chips (8086, 286 etc). Basic info on operating systems, what makes them tick, in depth detail on the functions they perform...

Im sure you get the idea, thanks!

Anybody aware of anything a bit more technically oriented. Nothing against howstuffworks but sometimes saying its just scratching the surface is a world of understatement.

You said 'basic level'...

If you want a better answer, ask a more specific question.

What kind of audience are we talking about? How much background do they have?
