I know the desks we use for our computers are usually the less glorious side of hardware, but it's time for a new one, so i was wondering if anyone knew of any good CHEAP computer desks. This will only be used for gaming so all i really need is enough room to move the mouse around.

If you are near a IKEA, you can get a pretty cool desk for pretty cheap.

I just bought two of the Jerker desks for our new house. If you can get passed the funny name, the desk itself is absolutely awesome. I bought one with a shelf, and one without.

Jerker, figures. ;)

I looked at them, and they just didn't seem sturdy enough (assuming that's what I was looking at). Polished silver poles with pale wood panels sound familiar?

Yep, sounds like it. I can tell you from building three of them (my dad has one as well at m parents house) that they are very very sturdy. In fact, I couldn't find anything built strong for the price when I was hitting the other usual spots like Staples, Office Depot, etc.

The wood surfaces are all re-inforced underneath with several metal cross beams. I weigh 230 lbs and I was sitting on both of the desks. Call it "stress-testing".

That Ikea one sounds promising, i'll take a look at it. Thanks for the help. I decided to build a new gaming machine and realized i had nowhere to put it, unless i sit on the floor. lol :p

Ok, it looks like a good prospect. It says it can hold up to a 21" monitor which is good cuz that's what i have, but i wonder if that platform can really hold all that weight.
