As of 12:20 last Friday, I'm engaged.

Nov 7th marks the 2 year anniversary of Linda and I being together. She likes going to LAN parties with me, but is held back by her laptop's lack of gaming capability (IBM X30...bought it for her last May for college because it was small and she liked borrowing my X31).

So, I'm going to scrounge up and trade off enough parts to get her a "lowish end" gaming system. Athlon 64 (939), and likely either an Xpress 200 or Tforce system. I'm not getting her a high end gaming video card quite yet...we'll upgrade her when she starts really needing it.

But...while I'm in charge of the internals...she's in charge of the external aesthetics. I have veto power if the case has crappy cooling (RAIDMAX with block intake, for example)...but want her to choose the chassis for herself.

my preference, from a usability standpoint, is the Inwin V523T. I've used this case for a dozen different builds, and have been very happy with it.

She would like something black (or silver) with blue LEDs, a window, cold cathode, and since she claims to be a wimp..fairly light weight.
I want something that'll hold up, have good cooling, and not be a POS or PITA to work with. An included high quality PSU is definitely a bonus. But, I don't want to spend $200 on her chassis/psu. If I did, Praetorian + Antec = perfect.

Shuttles are out, as my budget doesn't quite go that high...at least for a socket 939 shuttle...

Any suggestions?

Centurion 5 isnt too shabby imo. Pretty well rounded and very nice for its inexpensive pricetag if you ask me.

heres the one i did for my gf

they have windowed versions as well as ones that come with a psu and its not heavy by any means...plus its very inexpensive.
