Computer Buzzing Noise

What does it mean when your computer makes this slow motion buzzing noise? The noise is accompanied with a long hang or hiccup and even a system crash.

The noise can be replicated by playing a video or song with bass in VLC and slowing it down by 3-4 times.

And this sound comes from the speakers.

I had my i7 920 in a Rampage II Gene and whenever I heard the noise, I knew the computer would lockup soon. Once the computer locks up, my only option is to hard reset or hard shutdown.

Switching back to my P6T Deluxe board fixed it.

I recently built two identical 1155 HTPCs and both of them made that noise twice during video playback. The video had a minor hiccup but the systems never locked up even after extensive testing.

I built two more HTPCs identical to the two I just mentioned. None of these two have had that problem.

That sounds to me like the sound when you have an interrupt conflict and the system hard locks (while playing a song or a game, trying to use a certain device)
