Well, i'm trying to learn how to build my new computer before it actually comes to minimize the time of building it to a bare minimum so i can spend more time gaming on it :D

Anyway, i was wondering if THIS guide would also be good for a socket 754 computer, besides the fact that that guide is socket 939.
 
That guide should be fine. Too a pretty large extent, a processor is a processor. Also, your proc. will come with directions if you buy retail. You should buy retail for your first build. It's good to have a 1-year warranty behind your proc. when you are inexperienced.
