Can be a little but more than the given budget

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Gaming, Web Browsing
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
$800 ( can be a little more or less)
3) Where do you live?
NJ
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. Please be very specific.
Everything but accessories except a External HDD
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
keyboard mouse monitor speakers
6) Will you be overclocking?
no
7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?
19inch upgrading later to a larger 22-24
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
asap
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? etc.
Basic
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license?
No, planning to get Windows 7 with student discount

Notes: if its a bit much, there is no need for the External HDD if its messing up the overall capability of the build. Thanks guys for the help!

What games will you be playing?
How soon will you be upgrading the monitor?
... and which size, 22" or 24"? Typical 22" res is 1680x1050, though some are now coming in 1080P, while 24" is typically 1920x1200 or 1080P. The difference between these two resolutions will highly influence your vidcard decision since this is a gaming machine.

Thank you for replying so fast.
Some of the games I'll be playing will be WOW, Left 4 Dead 2, and most of the new games coming out.
Most likely a 22" monitor within the next 2 months or so.
Thanks again.

i wouldn't not friggin buy the 5750 just because it had a free game, WTF

you also left out a PSU

also that Rana sucks, I have no idea why you're recommending that

going i7-750 + mobo is a better option with a $800 budget than going with a crap ass Rana, cheaper? no, but better? yes

if you'll up your budget $200 you'll see a noticeable increase in bang for the buck for what you can get

and btw that Sonata case is crap, don't worry about getting free shipping if newegg doesn't have it, there's other online retailers that have free shipping, just look at other etailers for your case, since shipping on one of those can be expensive.

the coolermaster 690 is a really good case, so is the HAF 932

but if you want another good choice, you can go with the Antec 1200, it's a full size tower and it looks great, but the downside is it costs $150

If i were you, i'd save up a little more money so you can get more for your dollar, that's just some advice from someone who will be in your shoes next month

Default user's build is more like it, however, he still left out a PSU

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...71015&cm_re=earthwatts-_-17-371-015-_-Product $79.99 Antec Earthwatts 650W PSU

with a promo code for $15 off

$15 off w/ promo code EMCLMLW32, ends 1/10 bringing total cost to $64.99

goddamn good deal, even if you're not gonna buy the whole thing today at least buy that PSU when it's that good a price

You don't need that, because the Sonata III comes with a 500w Earthwatts. That's plenty for any non-SLI system.

Why the hell do you think I use it in every build over $400? It's a killer deal for a great case and a great PSU :)

ah ok, well i apologize then, I didn't click the link to the case, and that's my fault

i liked your i5 build personally, that would serve him better over the long run

good choices though man, props

Yeah, I like the i5 build better too, but I thought I might give him options.
