Why isn't the name of the forum just "Audio" versus Computer Audio so it encompasses everything from surround sound gaming, to portable listening, and even to sound cards?
Let's say I have a question about "burning in" headphones for my stereo. Would I place the thread in G[H], or Computer Audio? It really would fit into both, and thus wouldn't really fit into either.
Another thing is "Portable Audio Devices," like MP3 players, CD players and the like. Those questions are asked in G[H] mostly, but wouldn't they fit into Computer Audio (or my proposed revised title, Audio) much better?
By having a broader title in this case, it makes it easier on the mods (who would otherwise have to move threads around; a more focused audience will yield a more focused thread, which would minimize threads straying off-topic) as well as the poster (a more focused audience will yield more informed and more enthusiastic responses).
I have no clue how hard it would be to change the title of a forum, but I would struggle to say not very. If you could bring up some good points for opposition to the change, feel free to explain. I just want what is best for [H]ard|Forum.
[H]ard|Forum has been through a lot of changes recently to make it a lot more interesting and useful tool for the exchange of information. I believe that the change in title for the forum "Computer Audio" to just "Audio" would benefit the community as a whole.
And, yes, I do always have to be pissed off about something here.
