So,

About two years ago I decided that I wanted a computer while I was leafing thought on of my PC Gamers on a plane to Florida. I talked about it and a short while later I bought a computer.

The specs were

2.4b - ASUS P4Pe - 512 Generic PC 2700 Ram, 80 gig IMB, Cheiftech Case (the one everyone has) 9100, SB Audigy 1, and Creative 5200 5.1 Speakers.

I paid I think 1600 something, and then I bough a used dell moniter for 200. Total was 1826 with everything. My dad had to put down a down payment of abou 400 bucks.

I KNOW THIS WAS A BAD DEAL BUT BACK THEN IT WAS GOOD, OR SO IT WAS, SO DON'T FLAME SAYING I GOT RIPPED K THX.

Well now a days I am having some probs with my faimly and the have finaly had it. I have been paying my dad 50 bucks a month and I owe him about that much till like 06. Oh god.
I told my dad I would not pay him any more, he told me he would sell it, the I told him I will take everything that I had upgraded outta it and give it to him.

What I upgraded were my case, 512 corsair xmx pc 2700, 9800 pro, 120 gig harddrive, and a case. I was thinking, this was kinda good, get him to sell it if he really wants and then I can get a better computer. I love my faimly but they can be bad at sometimes, i guess.

I guess I am just ranting here cuz i don't wanna take it out on people @ school.

What would be a good config using my old parts?
I was thinking a ic7 and a 2.8c and another 512 of ram, or maybe a shuttle?
I was gonna spend like about 600 + my old parts.

THANKS, and if you read my rant and don't like it, go flame somewhere else k thx.

Let me get this straight...your dad bought you a computer, and your refusing to pay him back for it? Here's an idea....get a job, buy your own computer, and then you don't have to deal with it. That seems to be the case now, but why didn't you do that in the first place? If your answer is you couldn't afford it, then be happy he bought you one. I'm sorry this isn't the answer your looking for, and you did say not to flame, but this is WAY too ridiculous to ignore. I'd spend your upgrading money on some books about financial independence and growing up in the real world.

Keep what you have and just eat it. 1600 even then is a complete rip, and 200 for a monitor? I really hope it was an LCD.

Its a really nice dell branded crt 19 incher, amazinly nice,

he paid up front, but i said I would pay him back for it,

wuts the point of a computer if my mom won't even let me play games on it with out permission, yeaha its gay, but flame somewhere else.

that's the price of living off somebody else ... maybe you pissed your mom, and she's making you understand a lesson ... just suck it up, when you can live on your own ... then you'll learn you can't just do what ever you want ...

its been like this for since grade 8

i have never since then been able to walk up and go on my computer with out asking

it's up to you to show them that you can be trusted. I have given my daughter her own computer since she was 3, and now that she's turning 10, it gives me nightmares knowing she can be connecting to something that is dangerous ... all I can do is trust her, and pray ... believe me, being a parent is hard ... no matter how liberal you think you are ... you can't help but be a scrooge ... it's part of the job description ...
